American rapper Cardi B left Accra Ghana today with a bitter sweet experience, while leaving a trail of controversies behind. Signs that all may not go well in Ghana for her began when she was a no-show for hours at a meet and greet event arranged by the organisers of Livespot X Festival.
Some of the Ghanaian slay queens who were invited to have a meet and greet session with Cardi B and got snubbed reacted.
They include Afia Schwarzenegger, Akuapem Poloo, Victoria Lebene, Wendy Shay, and others.
While others fault the local organising team for the unfortunate incident, others fault Cardi B.
Wendy Shay shared that: “So u guys called us to come have a one on one lunch date with @iamcardib and she has been chewing khebab for 7 hours in her room without showing up.
What do u guys take Ghana celebrities for ?! This can never happen in Nigeria. Wake up Ghana! She is Cardi B and I am WENDY SHAY!”
An emergency meeting was arranged for them at 8.30pm, however, it was Akuapem Poloo who later showed up.
She took the opportunity to create bond with her.
The Grammy-winning singer, who is known for being blunt explained why she was absent at the event. She said she had stomach upset and that in any way, the programme was not in her contract.
Although she later attended the event, it was hours after it ought to have started, with many Ghanaian celebrities waiting.
The event was itself a disaster as a video post shows the Ghanaian lady mimicking Cardi B’s bottom-flashing ,had her wig falling off.
The main event itself, a day after the Lagos version, was also a problem as the light went off while Cardi B was performing.
