Nigeria’s President,Muhammadu Buhari has put to rest the speculation that a new person would be taking over as Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN) governor,hence,ending the tenure of the current governor,Mr Emefiele.
The news breaking is that President Buhari will extend the 5-year tenure of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, for a second term.
Presidency sources disclosed that the president had already sent Mr Emefiele’s name to the National Assembly for confirmation, in consonance with the CBN act.
Emefiele was first appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan towards the end of his one term tenure. Before his appointment as the CBN governor, he was Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank PLC.
