Ex-Oyo Governor Alao-Akala Is Dead

Former Oyo Governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, has died at the age of 71.
The former Governor, it was gathered, was suppose to be going on a trip to Ibadan on Wednesday morning and his
convoy were already set for the trip, but those in the convoy became concerned when the former Governor, who was expected to join the convoy, didn’t come out of his house at the set off time for the trip. As a result, some of the aides decided to forcefully go into the house, only to find that he had died in his sleep.
The cause of his death is yet to be confirmed.
The late Alao Akala, who was a former Deputy to Ex-Governor Rashidi Ladoja from 2003-2007,later emerged Governor in 2007, serving under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He handed over power to late Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
