It was a shocked Gbemisola Saraki,the Minister of State for Transport,and half sister if ex -Senate President, Bukola Saraki that faced the reality of the demolition of her father’s property, ‘Ile Arugbo’, by the Kwara State Government in the early hours of Thursday.
Governor AbdulRazaq,the governor of Kwara state had claimed that the property did not have a C of O,while nothing was paid to the state government before the land was acquired by the late Oloye Olusola Saraki, during his administration as the Governor of the state.
According to sources,in the early hours of friday, the security operatives dispersed protesters, including aged women within the complex while the demolition was going on.
On seeing the demolition being carried out,Gbemisola Saraki has protested the governor’s decision to wipe out the Saraki Dynasty. According to her, “We have a history and we are proud of that history”.
In a statement made public by her special assistant, Titilope Anifowoshe, Gbemisol a Saraki said, “So many things have happened this year, in fact, right up to the very dying hours of the year, but we will continue to take brave and faithful steps.
“We will continue to walk in the alight even though we have no idea what will happen next, though we are comforted, encouraged and reassured with this: ‘But they plan and Allah plans and Allah is the best of planners’ 8:30.
“So GRS Family, we are going to be known NOW as GRS-OLOYE Movement.
“We have a history and we are proud of that history. May Allah forgive the sins of ALL our dearly departed and may He make us worthy representatives of all that they stood for.”
