Nigerians React Over Death of Nigerian In The UK

Social media has been heated up with reactions from Nigerians following the death of a UK-based Nigerian disc jockey, Olaniyi Oladigbo, popularly called DJ Ola, who committed suicide.

According to reports many the rounds, shortly after dropping off his children at school on Tuesday, DJ Ola killed himself, after battling depression for some time. DJ Ola reportedly took his own life, shortly after dropping off his children at school on Tuesday.

It was gathered that DJ Ola battled depression for a while before committing suicide. His depression some say was ignited by the way people talked down on him and also about the lies some Nigerians allegedly told his wife about him.

His decision to commit suicide has sparked anger by many online users,who can’t understand why he chose that route to escape his problems.

We captured the reactions of some Nigerians online like domsuc26 ,who said”, There’s no justification for him to commit suicide because of a woman, its a taboo”

Others like greatfultina wrote; depression is demonic and it’s out there guys, check on your loved ones from time to time

On his post, jovilius wrote; How did my generation get this idea of having suicide as the option to ease depression? This is getting outa hand. The youths now see death as a form of escape from reality.
