At the beginning of this week, a video went viral on the internet showing gospel singer, Tope Alabi dancing ‘Zanku’ and ‘soapy’ at her Father’s burial.
Since the post went public, several people ,both Christians and non christians, along with many of her fans have been airing their opinion. While some have questioned her spirituality, some others see nothing wrong in the ‘controversial’ dance.
Well, the well known gospel artist’s husband,Soji Alabi has finally broken his silence on the matter, rising to his wife’s defence.
According to him, “ That video was definitely recorded at the wake keep service of my wife’s late father. As somebody who just lost her father, she was just trying to dance away the tears and she just expressed herself. Nobody saw her when she was crying, but now, they are against her for dancing?
My wife has done nothing wrong,” he said, reacting to how some fans and people where slamming Tope for dancing zanku during her late father burial, while pleading on the public to please understand.
The wake keep was here she danced was organized by some gospel artists and it was held in front of her late father’s house.According to Sola, “somebody must have recorded the video and sent it online for reasons best known to only God. My wife has done nothing wrong please” he insisted.
